Dearys - I'm back home!

Und das nun schon seit mehr als einem Monat. Viel getan hat sich nicht. Ich habe mich wieder an den gemächlichen Dorfrhythmus angepasst, Bewerbungen an Unis geschickt und arbeite ab und zu in der Bäckerei. Da ich lange Zeit kein Internet zur Verfügung hatte, zeige ich euch jetzt einige Eindrücke vom Jubilee der Queeny.

Wie man sehen kann, startete ich ganz hinten. Aber nach einer halben Stunde Trippelschritten und frenetischem Fahneschwenken, wenn eine Kamera passiert wurde, kam ich fast direkt vor den Palast. Es war so unglaublich!! Leider hatte ich keinen freien Blick auf den Balkon, da die Bühne, die noch vom Sonntag stand, im Weg war. Aber die Stimmung an sich mitzuerleben war einfach großartig. Wie die englischen Bürger ihre Queen und die Familie feierten!! Ein "God save the queen" folgte dem anderen und Dauernieselregen kann diesen Inselbewohner ja sowieso nicht die Laune verderben. Im Nachhinein kams mir dann doch ein bisschen komisch vor, wie solch eine riesige Masse an Menschen beim Anblick einer lieben alten Dame und einigen Fliegern durchdreht, aber nun ja, die englische Königsfamilie hat ja wirklich Charme.

Die letzten zwei Wochen sind angebrochen! Das Queen's Jubilee werde ich noch kräftig mitzelebrieren, aber dann gehts nach Hause, zurück ins wundervolle Heimatdorf! Endlich wieder Fahrradfahren und zu jedem freundlich "Moin" sagen können. :)

Dorfatmosphäre mitten in London, plus Palmen und Papageien - wunderbar. Außerdem habe ich mir nach der kleinen Wanderung das Dinner mit warmen Cookies zum Nachtisch redlich verdient. :)

regent´s park again! :)

From tuesday till last night my friend Ida visited me. We´ve known each other for about 6 years and graduaded together. She´s been working and traveling in Scotland and since her flight home was from Stansted Airport she came a few days earlier to London to visit me here. Well, of course we had to go to Oxford Street one day. I´ve been pretty good and didn´t buy anything at all - not even from Primark!! But actually, I really need some sandals or flip flops, because I didn´t bring any. You don´t expect the weather in Great Britain to be like this by the end of September!! It´s so sunny and hot! We actually felt like we were in Spain or something like that. Well, however...yesterday we walked to Regent´s Park to have a picnic there, paint our fingernails, read magazines& chat - it was so lovely! And I miss her already...

Tonight I´m going to a pub with some other au pairs. Tomorrow we´ll have a picnic again and on Sunday we´ll go to Brighton!! I really hope that this beautiful weather is going to stay like this until then, so that we can jump into the ocean! :) At the moment I´m just lazing around pitying myself for being alone in my room without Ida...I´m happy to have some distraction tonight!

Isn´t this candy store the sweetest and most charming thing you´ve ever seen? It´s in Camden and I´m definately going to return. Especially because I´m living in the neighbourborough, called Islington. I love all the colourful stands and the individual cafés there! Today we went to one that actually looks like a laboratory. The salespersons are dressed like chemists and they make ice cream right in front of you! Then, if you´ve bought whatever you´d like to have, you can sit on one of the swings that hang just outside on the stores´wall.
 It´s such a lovely place! :) And also, I wish I had an appartement here, which I could buy furniture and antique bits and pieces for. But well, actually I´m trying to save some of my money, because I want to travel to the Cotswolds, Brighton and Bristol...but saving money is such a hard thing to do in London!!
So guys, as you´ve probably noticed, I´m writing my texts in English now. It´s because I´m finding myself in a weird state, where I can´t think in German properly anymore, while not really being able to express everything I´d like to say in English. Do you know what I mean? Well, however, writing in English will be further practise for me. Now I´m going back to the series I´m watching at the moment:"Men in Trees". Does anyone of you know it? I fell in love with Elmo and its inhabitants! :) (and quiet&sexy Jack of course!!:))

Ich schäme mich ein bisschen für meine unkreativen Titel und die darauf folgende, ungeordnete, unkommentierte Bilderschau...aber irgendwie bleibt zwischen sight-seeing, pub crawling und weingetränkten Nächten so wenig Zeit, um das Ganze hier liebevoller zu gestalten. Ich hoffe, ihr findet trotzdem Gefallen daran!!

It´s a Saturday night! :)
