long time no speak

Seid gegrüßt, meine Lieben! Oh, so viele Monde habe ich nichts von mir hören lassen! Dabei dachte ich, dass ich hier in London ganz viel Blogmaterial haben würde. Aber irgendwie ist das Gegenteil der Fall. Ich fühle mich ganz furchtbar uninspiriert ohne meinen Bastelschreibtisch, meine Nähmaschine, meine Gitarre und die Natur. Ich werde versuchen, dem ganzen entgegenzuwirken. Ein erster Schritt ist schon getan: Ich habe mir selbst mit youtube Videos Stricken beigebracht und versuche mich nun an einem Schal für meine Mama. Außerdem war ich schon zwei Mal bei dem Salsa Kurs, der von meiner Sprachschule angeboten wird - das macht wirklich super viel Spaß! Was reduziert werden sollte sind die Stunden, die ich mit "Ally McBeal" Folgen gucken verbringe. Devise für die nächsten Tage: mehr frische Luft, weniger Laptop! (komme ich mir ein wenig  scheinheilig vor, da ich gerade auf den Bildschirm starre?) Gestern war ich mit einer Freundin in Oxford. Hier sind ein paar Eindrücke davon und von den letzten Tagen...:)

Christ Church

 Hello there, lovelies! It´s been quite a long time since I posted something. I thought i´d have lots of material in London, but actually, I feel very uninspired without my tinkering table, my sewing-machine, my guitar and nature. But I´ve started working aganinst it. I´ve taught myself how to knit and I am attending a salsa course, which is just amazing! The plan for the next few days is less "Ally McBeal" DVDs and more fresh air+photography! Here are some shots from Oxford and the last days...

Heut abend werde ich zum Feuerwerk von Annas Schule gehen. (Anna ist eins der Kinder, auf die ich aufpasse. Sie ist ein verrückter Wirbelwind und ich liebe die Wettrennen mit ihr!) Auf ein hoffentlich baldiges Wiederlesen!

Brighton moments captured

Brighton Part I

Yesterday I went to Brighton with two other au pairs and it was such a lovely day! The sun was shining and painting little sparkles on the ocean and a little breeze was cooling us. I was absolutely enchanted by The Lanes - little alleys that are full of sweet vintage stores and charming cafés. In the evening we went back to the beach and watched the sun go down. I took about a million pictures, that I´ll show you in some following post, Oh, and I´ve made a video. so stay tuned, ladies and gentlemen!! ;)

If you should ever be in Brighton you should definately check out "The Mock Turtle", a beautiful café near Brighton Pier. They serve a huge variety of homemade cakes, tea and warm meals. The dishes probabaly give you an idea of how cute this place is!

regent´s park again! :)

From tuesday till last night my friend Ida visited me. We´ve known each other for about 6 years and graduaded together. She´s been working and traveling in Scotland and since her flight home was from Stansted Airport she came a few days earlier to London to visit me here. Well, of course we had to go to Oxford Street one day. I´ve been pretty good and didn´t buy anything at all - not even from Primark!! But actually, I really need some sandals or flip flops, because I didn´t bring any. You don´t expect the weather in Great Britain to be like this by the end of September!! It´s so sunny and hot! We actually felt like we were in Spain or something like that. Well, however...yesterday we walked to Regent´s Park to have a picnic there, paint our fingernails, read magazines& chat - it was so lovely! And I miss her already...

Tonight I´m going to a pub with some other au pairs. Tomorrow we´ll have a picnic again and on Sunday we´ll go to Brighton!! I really hope that this beautiful weather is going to stay like this until then, so that we can jump into the ocean! :) At the moment I´m just lazing around pitying myself for being alone in my room without Ida...I´m happy to have some distraction tonight!

Isn´t this candy store the sweetest and most charming thing you´ve ever seen? It´s in Camden and I´m definately going to return. Especially because I´m living in the neighbourborough, called Islington. I love all the colourful stands and the individual cafés there! Today we went to one that actually looks like a laboratory. The salespersons are dressed like chemists and they make ice cream right in front of you! Then, if you´ve bought whatever you´d like to have, you can sit on one of the swings that hang just outside on the stores´wall.
 It´s such a lovely place! :) And also, I wish I had an appartement here, which I could buy furniture and antique bits and pieces for. But well, actually I´m trying to save some of my money, because I want to travel to the Cotswolds, Brighton and Bristol...but saving money is such a hard thing to do in London!!
So guys, as you´ve probably noticed, I´m writing my texts in English now. It´s because I´m finding myself in a weird state, where I can´t think in German properly anymore, while not really being able to express everything I´d like to say in English. Do you know what I mean? Well, however, writing in English will be further practise for me. Now I´m going back to the series I´m watching at the moment:"Men in Trees". Does anyone of you know it? I fell in love with Elmo and its inhabitants! :) (and quiet&sexy Jack of course!!:))

London Impressionen Teil IV

Ich schäme mich ein bisschen für meine unkreativen Titel und die darauf folgende, ungeordnete, unkommentierte Bilderschau...aber irgendwie bleibt zwischen sight-seeing, pub crawling und weingetränkten Nächten so wenig Zeit, um das Ganze hier liebevoller zu gestalten. Ich hoffe, ihr findet trotzdem Gefallen daran!!

I so wanted him to be my gay best friend! ;) Okay...so now I´m writing in English...seriously it´s been too much wine the last two days. Anyway, I´m off to the Irish pub again tonight. It´s a Saturday night! :)

London Impressionen Teil III

Regent´s Park - definitiv einen Besuch wert!

Heute fand ich mich erst im Menschenwirrwarr auf der Oxford Street, dann im wunderschönen, grünen, von Rosenduft erfüllten Regent´s Park wieder. Als kleine Landpommeranze atmete ich zwischen Bäumen und grüner Weite erstmal auf.

 Liny Hop Tänzer beim Themse Festival, deren Auftritt ich so gerne gesehen hätte! Aber allein die Outfits haben mich schon entzückt.

Rechts: der wohl stärkste Caipi aller Zeiten...und ich habe ihn bezwungen. Gleich gibts Dinner und danach werde ich mich in meine neue, superkuschlige Primark Schlafanzughose schmeißen und britisches Fernsehen schauen. Ich wünsche euch einen wunderbaren Abend!!
